Everything that holds the body to the chassis is either
removed or loosened. Now it is just to find a day where as many of
my friend as possibly have time to help me lift the body. I still lack
the trolley to put the body on, though, Guess I'll try to be a carpenter,
and make a rolling stand for the body within the next week or so.

What a way to spend Christmas!!!! 6 hours in the garage
today!
Body-Off-Chassis is very near. Today I finally managed
to remove the hand brake cable from the brake-linkage in front of
the car (how I will ever manage to assemble it I won't thing of now...).
Also loosened the steering column (the inner lower column is still attached
to the body, but loosened from the steering unit) and loosened the heater
hoses from underneath the dashboard. (Unfortunately a lot of water ran
onto the carpets and insulating material - but I have planned to change
these anyway.) I started removing the handbrake cable yesterday, and
spent a couple of hours wondering how - until I was called in for Christmas
dinner.
Biggest 'problem' right now is to get the clevis off the
'pushrod' in the master cylinder, so I can lift the body without
it hanging in the brake clevis.
From Mark Hollingsworth I got two scanned drawings of the
body and frame a couple of days ago. These really helped me in locating
the last 6 bolts that hold the body to the frame. These bolts are
the only ones remaining now - and hopefully I can lift the body off
chassis during a couple of days.
Radiator, heater and brake master cylinder was removed a couple of weeks ago, after lots of tips from the guys on the Lotus Europa Mailing list. Who could know that I had to remove the light to get enough space to pick out the radiator??

Picked out the seats from the car, and started removing
the radiator, heater and brake master cylinder/fluid reservoir. No
big success... How do I remove the radiator without cutting in the body?
I have loosened the two screws on the bottom and one on the top of the
radiator. The radiator is loose, but there is not enough room to lift
it out, and I can't bend it either..
For the master brake cylinder; do I have to split the clevis
from the piston lock nut? Or shall I use a bow saw??
Now I start wondering if all the employees at Lotus were
midgets. I had really big trouble dismounting the hand brake cable
and split pin and clevis pin in the foot well of the driver... And
I am only 184 cm tall..
Hopefully I can remove the brake master and radiator during
the week, and continue the work to prepare 'body-off-the-chassis'
before christmas.
I am a bit worried about the jacking points and chassis stands; I feel the body crack when I jack the car on the refereed places.. Is this right??

Finally; the MG is stored away for the winter, and I've
got a bit more space around the Europa. Today I've moved the Europa
from the left to the right part of the garage, and noticed something
very strange; When we pushed the car backwards out of the garage, it
wasn't too heavey. But, when we tried to push the car forward,
into the left garage, the right rear wheel was completely stuck. I had
to call my neighbour and we partly lifted, partly pushed the now very
heavy Europa into the garage. Removed the brakedrum, and found as expected
a lot of wax on this side too, but not as bad as on the left side. I
now can turn the wheel when lifted from the ground. I take this as a positiv
progress.
