1956 Jensen 541 - after 20 years of storage

Mid-May 2006, I went to see how 'my' Jensen 541 was, 20 years after I sold it.
When I last saw it, back in august 1986, it was driveable, complete - and a nice-to-have car.

20 years on it is unfortunately not possible to use the same words.

After 20 years in a damp barn, the paint was totally destroyed (the positive thing is that we now saw the original colour; dark green).
The luggage compartement was mouldy, the interior looked complete, but obviously the carpets was destroyed. The roof-lining was hanging a bit in the rear, and it was wetspots all over.

Engine had sometime, guess ten years ago, been partly dismantled; head was off, and the engine was standing open so moisture and mouse could play with the pistons..  Rust all over. Carburators was in back seat of car.

The chassis was in very bad condition, and will need a lot of work to make a base for the car again.. Battery housing, and chassis nearby, was full with rust.
Doors was not possible to open, though there was ca 1 cm opening at the rear of the doors. Front window was broken og left hand side.

The car, located 140 kilometers south of Oslo (Norway), is for sale.
I'll be happy to help you contact the present owner. Mail me at ba.haver(at)online.no, and I'll return you the owners' number.
On the car's firewall, the following two signes read:
ODY no 5088
GHAS 865443

At the engine head, it says (I think, it was a bit unclear):
WESLACE
PATENT
No 565394
No 010114  (can be 610114 or 810114)
